Training & Technical Support

Polymac staff have in excess of 50 years experience in manufacturing, sales and technical service of EPS extending back to the period where we were employees at Huntsman Chemicals prior to the closure of their site in Feb 2010. Coupled with this extensive product knowledge, we offer additional services through our agency agreements for various manufacturers of EPS processing machinery.

If it is education/process/machinery support that you are seeking, talk with us to see whether we can tailor an audit or training program to suit your needs.

  • HSE
  • Process Audits for energy and productivity optimisation
  • Product, Process and machinery operation training
  • Process documentation
  • Machinery troubleshooting

With our knowledge and experience gained from manufacturing EPS at Huntsman Chemical Company Australia, our ongoing relationships with our bead suppliers, our machinery/tooling knowledge and experience gained through our machinery and tooling relationships, we have a very good understanding of the basics of what is required to manufacture EPS products efficiently, and how to troubleshoot when there are problems.

Our experience allows us to assit with trouble shooting and even teaching new operators the basics of why beads expand, how they fuse together and what the machine is, or should be, doing at each step. More importantly we can point out how to do this safely and use the product efficiently.

Process Control, documentation and testing:

We recommend that from moulders should know what process parameters they should document and track to optimise processing, and this activity should be supported with in-house testing of physical properties of products manufactured. From time to time moulders should get their products independently tested to ensure consistency of quality that meets Australian Standards for end-use of your products. We have access to a small lab where we can undertake density testing testing along with strengh testing for boxes and block on calibrated Instron equipment following the appropriate procedures required by Australian Standards. Where we can't undertake testing in-house, we can provide recommendations for external testing - especially for fire performance testing and thermal conductivity through a NATA approved laboratory.
